Electricity, Electronics and Energy Efficiency Testing Laboratory (Technical Division 7) has the functions as follows:
– To test quality properties of products, goods related to Electricity and Electronics.
– To check, evaluate, inspect the quality of import-export goods in Electrical, Electronic and Heating fields.
– To perform the measurements for evaluation of environmental conditions such as light intensity, electric field intensity, earth resistance, lightning arrester; To performing the measurements for checking safety of products and electronic devices such as insulation resistance, …
– To maintain and repair electrical, electronic measuring & testing equipment.
– To train technicians and testers in the aboved areas.
– To test safety of household and similar electrical appliances.
– To ensure the safety requirements in testing electrical and electronic equipment according to National technical regulations QCVN 04:2009/BKHCN (Admendment 1:2016 QCVN 04:2009/BKHCN) (including household electrical appliances such as kettles, water heaters, hair dryers, rice cookers, electric fans, electric irons, microwave ovens, hand dryers and electric cable, etc.)
– To test electrical circuit breakers
– To test relays, transformers, current transformers, contactors, etc.
– Testing electrical wires and cables
– To test electrical lamps and accessories
– To test and measure light intensity and luminous flux of lamps
– To test the dustproof and waterproof ability of electrical products under the IP protection level
– To measure the arrester earthing resistance for buildings, substations and factories
– To test Energy Efficiency of electric lamps, ballads, electric fans, rice cookers, etc.

– Accredited ISO/IEC 17025 by Bureau of Accreditation – Ministry of Science and Technology (BoA), Accreditation No.: VILAS 023.
– Designated by Ministry of Industry and Trade, under the Decision No. 2667/QĐ-BCT dated June 29th, 2016 as the Energy Efficiency Testing Laboratory for equipment in the energy labelling program.
